On Monday March 31, we initiated another new brother as an EA. Brother Chris Hall
presided in the East and performed a credible initiation.

We seem to be having fun during Lodge meetings. The highlight of each meeting continues to be the ugly tie contest. Check the web site to see the tie to beat. On March 10, Brother Chris Hall attended finely attired in a three piece suit. When he entered the contest, the entire lodge said that his tie was too conservative to even be considered. THEN, he removed the tie from behind his vest. Look at our web site for the results.

The March 24 ugly tie contest resulted in Brother Chris’ tie retaining the honors but with an addition. Who says what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! Check this out out on the web site.

Brother Jim Hinkley gave an outstanding lecture on the Masonic relevance of the “forget me not.” This has had much significance in Masonry over the years. The most notable use of the Forget me Not in recent history is by Masons in Nazi Germany. Now only were Jews persecuted and sent to concentration camps, but Masons, Gypsies and other were too. The Forget me Not was used by Masons during this time as a method of recognition rather than the Square & Compas.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those of us who are sick or distressed or have lost loved ones.

We hope to see you at the first Masonic Night at the Ballpark. If you would like to attend, please send your reservations now. My email address is fgirtzii@aol.com If you happen to see me and tell me how many will be coming, please make sure I write it down. We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark on May 31 – and before.

Fraternally Thine,
Frederick G. Irtz, II
