Devotion Lodge #160 F & AM - Where Good Men Become Better
February
DEVOTION LODGE # 160 F&A M
WHERE GOOD MEN - BECOME BETTER
PO Box 910294

I am going to try to accomplish a difficult task. Write a periodic letter to keep you informed of what is happening in our lodge. Everyone I have talked to has said this is difficult because it is another requirement for your time. Time, it seems is the one commodity that each of us possesses in short supply. Time for work and family are the two most important activities facing each of us. Work enables us to support our families. Family is equally important because we love and care about them and take care of them as we are best able to do. After those two, comes everything else, including Devotion Lodge # 160.
While I do not personally know each lodge Brother, I can say that we have good men in the Lodge. Having discussed the Lodge with Past Masters, it has become apparent that Devotion is truly the Lodge where good men do indeed become better men. Thus, the Motto you see above.
Every meeting night for the remainder of the year, we will have an ugly tie contest. The Brothers present, except the Master, will vote the ugliest tie. The Master, then, will wear the winner at the following meeting, so that is why I don't get to vote. The one I am wearing will also be in the contest so it will be the one to beat! In December I will treat the winner and his wife/girlfriend (but not both) to dinner. (No, it will not be a White Castle burger dinner either.) So, come out to Lodge and bring your entry. Oh, yes, just about forgot ... you will need to wear your entry before it will be considered an entry into the contest. (In case you need a reminder of our meeting dates, one is enclosed.)
I started this by saying it will be periodic. I hope that the word periodic will be defined "Monthly". But mailing letters is expensive. So, please check our web site. The Master's Letter will be published there. We have created a blast database for emailing to all Lodge members for whom we have email addresses. Those of you for which we already have addresses, sorry, you'll get two letters. If you did not receive an email letter, please provide the Lodge your email address.
Finally, we spent quite some time attempting to identify an activity which would fill a number of time requirements all at the same time. Please see the attached flyer about MASONIC NIGHT AT THE BALLPARK. We are excited to be able to do this. You can send your reservations to us by email, mail or phone. My email address is Attorneytaxlaw@aol.com If you happen to see me and tell me how many will be coming, please make sure I write it down. We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark on May 31 - and before.
Fraternally yours,
Frederick G. Irtz, II
